Lucille Clifton

Lucille Clifton (1936-2010) was an influential American poet and children's book author known for her powerful, accessible verse that celebrated Black identity, womanhood, and resilience. Born in Depew, New York, she published over a dozen poetry collections, including "Good Times" (1969) and "Blessing the Boats" (2000), which won the National Book Award.
